Company Questions
What homeowners and property managers ask before hiring us.
Do you work outside Northern Virginia?
Not yet. We work across Fairfax, Loudoun, Prince William and Arlington counties and the cities of Alexandria, Fairfax, Falls Church, Manassas and Manassas Park. Enter your ZIP code and your request goes to the office that covers it — Tysons, Chantilly, Annandale or Manassas. If we don't cover your ZIP yet, our Tysons headquarters reviews the request and lets you know.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Gold House Painting is licensed and insured in Virginia, and every crew works under that coverage. License and insurance details are available on request — ask when you book your estimate and we will provide them before any work begins. We recommend asking any contractor for both before you sign.
How does a free estimate work?
Start with your ZIP code so your request reaches your local office. We get in touch to set up a free on-site walkthrough, where we measure, check every surface and talk through colors and paint lines. You then receive a written quote listing the prep, the products, the price and a proposed start window. No charge, no obligation.
Can I get an estimate without an in-person visit?
Yes. Choose "virtual walkthrough" as your preferred contact method and we will ask for photos or a short video of the space, then send a written estimate. It works well for interior rooms in good condition. For exterior work, repairs and larger projects we still recommend an on-site visit before the price is fixed.
How far in advance should I book?
It depends on the season and the size of the job. Exterior painting runs in the warmer months and those weeks fill first, so the earlier you get in touch, the more choice of dates you have; interior work is scheduled year-round. Your written quote includes a proposed start window, and we confirm the date when you approve the work.
When do I pay, and do you require a deposit?
Your written quote states the deposit, if any, and the payment schedule before you sign, so there are no surprises. Nothing is due for the estimate itself, and final payment is typically due after the final walkthrough, once you have signed off on the work. Ask your local office about accepted payment methods when you book.
Do you offer a warranty on your work?
Yes. Every project comes with a written workmanship warranty; the terms, including what is covered and for how long, are in your agreement. If something is not right during the warranty period, call the office that handled your project and we will come back to take care of it.
Which paint brands do you use?
Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore — we are an official partner of both. Depending on the surface and the tier you choose, that means lines such as SuperPaint, Duration and Emerald from Sherwin-Williams, or Regal, Regal Select and Aura from Benjamin Moore. Your written quote names the product, sheen, color and code for every surface.
Do you use low-VOC paint?
Yes. Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore both make low- and zero-VOC interior lines, and the product for each room is named in your written quote, so you can check it before we start. Tell us if anyone in the home is sensitive to odors or has breathing concerns and we will plan products, ventilation and the order of rooms around it.
What paperwork can you provide for my HOA or property manager?
Whatever the application asks for. Typically that is the paint manufacturer, color names, codes and sheens, a written scope of work, and our license and insurance details; many associations also want a certificate of insurance before work starts. Ask at the walkthrough and we include it with your quote. Color-approval tips are on our exterior painting page.
